I am not a believer of the need to try to create a stronger sense of urgency on a team. And you shouldn’t be either. I feel you are misguided when you think that if you’re not always hurrying, you’re already behind.
Cardinal sins in Urgency…
…may cause shortcuts and sloppiness
…does not make solutions very creative
…encourages micromanagement
…comes off as amateur and doesn’t inspire long term loyalty
…makes a lot of noise in the communcation stream
Instead start believing in a sense of purpose. Focusing on the right things, at the right time. Remembering and connecting with your cause.
